Hey guys, I've seen people hold contests in their own personal journals and DeviantArt pages, and I guess it was a good way to promote your own page and have people draw for you. XD Anyways, I suddenly decided to hold this contest due to my own voidness in fandoms. So I want you guys to help me fill that void!


Your Objective
Draw, write or create any media related to the topic. ...And to make me love you for all eternity if this works.

Rare Pairs! Or, crack pairs that I make up and can't really draw for myself. More details at the rules n guidelines n stuff.


Rules
Each entry has to be your own original creation.
No bases or tracing allowed. I mean it.
It has to be a completely new entry meant to be entered in this contest and not an old Deviation reused, okay?
It can be any form of media, fanart, fanfiction, doujin, an AMV would be cool.
Each person can submit up to 3 entries.
I will only take a maximum of 3 entries for a certain category. But I can only take one from three different people. So first come first serve, who ever submits it will take the spots.

Drawing for a Higher Priority does not necessarily ensure First Place. I will be giving a prize to the highest graded in each category. I will also be giving prizes to the highest graded in total (in here, it does help to take a High Priority entry) , but so that the same entry will not be awarded twice. [I'll try to figure out how that works. ._.]


Prizes
Everyone likes prizes, right? Well, you will be getting stuff, but I'm sorry to say that it's nothing like a Subscription or anything like a free Commision. I'm not one to use money for my art, so I'll just be giving out requests, if that's okay.

First Place
Will recieve one fully colored request and two sketches/linearts from me. 8D
Second Place
Will recieve one fully colored and one sketch/lineart request from me.
Third Place
Will recieve a one fully colored request from me.

And there will be six winners, since I grade by the Priorities and in total. _{...Wow, this is going to be a lot of work for me.} [Edit] I did my math properly this time, and if I said there would be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the three priorities AND in total, then there would be a total of 12 winners. ... ...Oh god kill me. OTL Would it be okay if I chose first place for each category, then graded 1st, 2nd and 3rd in total? _{So it's... back to 6 winners. TTATT}


Deadline
Soon. As in soon. This time next week, most likely. That means... January 6, 2010! Get those entries in guys! (If anyone needs more time, I shall extend the deadline, but only if you've already started on your entry. If you just decide to join now, well, you still have a week.)

re: The Contest
We can only draw things from this list?
Sadly, yes. Because this is my contest and I wish to fill my own void. ...I mean, it's nice to spread other crack/rare pairs, but for now, I'll start with my own personal favorites.
Will you be accepting entries outside of DeviantArt?
Yes, yes I am. The more the merrier. Spread the word guys.
You changed it from 2 entries per subject to 3. Why?
Because many people were interested in doing IkexRed, and I can never deny a good thing. =w=
Is there a deadline yet?
No, not yet, but I'm really glad for the amount of entries already! There were a lot more people that said they were interested so I'm going to give them some time.
You changed the prizes too! Why?!
Because I realized that the third place winner won't really have an awesome prize even though they took the time to do this stupid contest of mine. I think they deserve something cool too! So they get a colored request. :3 First place winner will only be getting one colored picture too, but TWO sketches/linearts. That's like, three requests! 8D Second place gets half and half.

I... uh... I was messing with the HTML. I just wanted to learn how to do slashes but then I was experimenting with other DA HTML. I hope it doesn't look to bad. >3>
Your grading system makes no sense!
Uh... Sorry about that. The priorities will only be used for one judging, and I will only choose one winner from each priority. (First place for each priority.) Then I will judge as a whole, priority here will add extra points, but I want to make it so that the same entry will not be chosen as an overall winner.

Yes! Finally thinking of a deadline! It's not a specific date but I'll do it when I finish my kiriban picture. So... when you I say that the kiriban has been hit, that's like, a closing thing for all entries. Yeah.

re: Pairings

I do require for it to be the Link in Majora's Mask and the Link in Oracles in order for it to be a real entry. I mean, even though Korinku will be in Zora form, Orlin should be the mermaid. *koffkoffkoff*
Does the Meowth x Pikachu have to be from the anime?
I was actually thinking TeamRocket's Meowth and Ash's Pikachu, but if you make it Mystery Dungeon NyaPika or general NyaPika, that's fine. As long as it's cute. .w.
What about Bulbasaur and Squirtle?
I was generally thinking of Ash's Bulbsaur and Squirtle, but it too can be from the Mystery Dungeon series, or any Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Make it cute, okay?

It's is 100% 's fault. All her fault. All of it. She wrote this awesomely amazing fic ([link]) where stuff happens and that's all I can think about when I think of Claus now. And that's all I've been doodling instead of studying for my finals.

re: Entries
What do you mean by tracing?
You know what I mean, taking someone else's art and tracing over it. (This includes official pictures.) And "just taking the pose" is just as bad as taking the whole picture, or half the picture, okay? I frown upon this sort of thing. (That's why I'm so anti-bases, because that's pretty much what it is.)
Does it have to be colored?
I would prefer that you do, even though more color does not always equal more effort. But you know, it makes the picture look complete, you know?

Ahaha, no, you don't. You don't have to claim anything, just, make sure you submit an entry before the maximum 3.
